Underground & Confined Space Mapping

For underground surveying and shaft or 3D tunnel scanning needs, HTXMAPPER. offers unparalleled expertise in delivering engineering grade scans and creating as-builts of service tunnels, underground utility corridors, shafts, and other infrastructure.

Rely on us for: Seismic movement detection and monitoring, Geologic mapping, Structural health assessments, Structural Renovations, Logistics assessments.

3D Tunnel / Underground Structural scanning is the beyond compared capture tool to provide a precise digital clone of underground assets. We are recognized for our accurate and repeatable measurements in underground operations. Our accurate georeferenced engineering grade 3D scans, including true color imaging options, are used for mapping, planning, clash detection and change detection of underground structures in energy, transportation, mining, government, and industrial sectors.

In underground spaces, our equipment can quickly scan safely — delivering accurate and actionable 3D data in real time.

Professional / Safe Scanning

Our team of professional, surveyors have over 10 years of experience. With more than 1000 hours of LiDAR expertise since 2018, we specialize in planning the best approach, using the right technology, providing precise 3D scans, and delivering the data in the format you require for your project. Our techniques are non-invasive and don’t put your people at risk.

Reduce Downtime and Costs

Without HTXMAPPER CORP., surveying underground spaces involves significant resource investment. Teams of personnel are required to pre-plan, construct, prepare and safely execute the underground survey, often with climbing equipment, ropes, PPE and more. The old way of underground surveying would take months from start to finish. In addition to the time required, the expenses combined with safety equipment, training, and execution all to a substantial resource investment needed for every common underground survey.

Plan Work / Operations

Unknown underground areas are dangerous and often need to be re-designed for stability, safety, and renewed operations using recent code updates and technologies with best practices. Usual surveying tools can’t navigate corners, beyond debris piles, or pitch-black areas beyond line-of-sight witch will be leaving you with undeveloped and sometimes incorrect data.

Procedure / Process

To access underground or other confined spaces, we work through your preferred access points, regardless of orientation or angle. We immediately and effortlessly access the space and begin data capture. We use both caged and non-caged equipment depending on the application for each project. Our skilled operators navigate through narrow openings, above debris piles, and scale varying heights that would normally involve significant infrastructure and safety gear. Our equipment utilizes AI and 3D laser scanning (LiDAR) to capture millions of data points, which can be used to create high-density point cloud maps. Thermal (radiometric) imaging or specialized cameras to also capture video and still images are a highly requested option.

Deliverables in Any Format

We deliver true, measurable, and repeatable 3D data in real time about the condition of underground areas using cutting edge technology. Designed for confined spaces, we use 3D laser scanning (LiDAR) to create high-density point cloud maps, typically used by clients to create CAD models and 3D graphics for engineering and geological planning.

Our experts can deliver data in any CAD, non-CAD, 2D and/or 3D format you require: Point Clouds, 3D CAD / AUTODESK, 3D Revit / Navisworks or Solid models, Project planning, FLIR radiometric (thermal) images, videos and maps, Fly-through videos, jpeg / raster images, Construction verification, Change detection / monitoring

Scanning with HTXMAPPER CORP., our equipment can be used for 3D mapping, inspection and surveying. Working in underground spaces carries inherent risks and dangers, besides being time-consuming and costly. We reduce personnel safety risks and costly downtime by conducting underground scanning operations, which can safely be deployed. Equipped with 3D laser scanning (LiDAR), video cameras, gas sensors and AI to collect critical survey and inspection data, our rugged equipment is collision tolerant, allowing them to navigate through challenging and hazardous spaces with ease.

Clients in industries including commercial construction, manufacturing, agriculture, transportation and health services frequently use 3D data maps and CAD models to assess safety, plan work, and reduce costly downtime.
